LUNCH TIME!

Lunches, Lunches, Lunches

Don't you hate when you pack your child's lunch, just to have it come home barely touched.
Lately, I have been putting some thought into my son's lunches, so he will eat them.

So, I made him a sandwich kebab. I used little cookie cutters for the star shape. I used turkey, cheese and bread w/ apples on end. I break the end off so it isn't sharp and poke through the bag. You can also do this w/o the kebab and make mini sandwiches with the cookie cutters.

I have also made kebabs with just fruit and sent yogurt and crackers.

Jack cames home and said the kids ask what kind of sandwich he has.
He has now been making requests.

Call of the day!!

So, I get a call this morning while I am at work from a woman. She proceeds to tell me that her husband is unresponsive and she said something about him & hospice. I knew she had the wrong number, but didn't want to tell her that and hang up. So, I asked her if she was looking for someone to come to her home and check on her husband. She said "yes". I figured I would just transfer her call to a 911 operator. But, before I did that I wanted her address just in case we got disconnected. I had her phone number from caller ID. She preceded to give me her address in IDAHO. I am not sure how she ended up dialing to Massachusetts.

I then told her to stay on the line and I transferred her to 911.

I called 911 back a couple of minutes later to make sure the transfer did go through. A gentleman answered and I explained why I was calling and he said they still had the lady on the phone and had gotten in touch with Idaho authorities and they were on their way to her house.

Hopefully everything will be o.k.

Halloween

Well, I can't believe Halloween has come and gone. We got about 60 kids last night starting @ 5:30 and shutting off the lights @ about 7:52 by my neighbor Bill's calculations. Jack only went to a couple of houses, but still got plenty of candy.
One thing I did notice is kids are saying trick or treat less and less, they just come up to the door with their pillow cases or bags open. I actually had a girl wheeling around her back pack on wheels last night, It was pretty funny!!
Some kids didn't even have costumes on and I made those ones dance. I said you want candy and you are not wearing a costume, not going to happen my friend. Let's just say most of these kids should have worn costumes...

It was a fun night.
